Christina Burge, APRN

PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER

I am board-certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have experience evaluating and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions over the lifespan with a focus in adolescence through adulthood, including perinatal and postpartum mood concerns. I have an additional interest and am developing expertise in Functional Psychiatry. My current treatment focus is on psychopharmacological (medication) interventions based on the individual’s specific health needs and desired health outcomes. I believe in a comprehensive approach to mental health and refer to experts in house and in the community to utilize synergistic treatments for therapy, yoga, and other scientifically-based tools.

I grew up in Sarasota County, FL, but continued my higher education in Mississippi, earning a Bachelor’s in the Science of Nursing at the University of Southern Mississippi. After gaining 10 years of nursing experience in the hospital, I completed my education for advanced nursing at the University of South Alabama. I earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a focus in psychiatry.

In 2021, I moved back to Sarasota County and have been practicing in the community mental health setting. I love working at TTMC in Sarasota and offer local patients in person or virtual appointments. I believe that a comprehensive approach to stability in mental health is a vital component of total health.
